The Right Intentions for my First Blog

Since I was in college, I’d always wanted to have a blog of some sort. I enjoyed writing and I had tons of free time, but I just never had a good idea for what I would or should write. The pressure on myself was immense and paralyzing. Whenever I started to write something, I would think:

What if I’m not qualified enough?
What would people think of my posts?
Could I even make money off of this?

It wasn’t until now that I realized a few things:

  • My life experiences and what I’ve done for school, work, and life give me experience and qualifications. Although I just see them as memories and things I’ve learned along the way, they are going to be useful to somebody.
  • Who cares about what people think about my posts? It would be great to write and help someone out, but in the end, I should be focused on writing for myself. I like writing and seeing my own progress, whether or not other people agree, is not up to me or my goal.
  • I’m not a broke college student anymore and hosting a website is pretty inexpensive, so there’s no pressure to do any of this for money. I should be focused on conveying my thoughts and expressing myself.

So cheers to that and hopefully someone can learn from me. If not, hopefully Me can learn from me.
